Heidelberg to Freudenstadt

Heidelberg Castle
Our June 5 evening flight to Frankfurt went smoothly and we arrived at Stefan's bike storage/B&B in Heidelberg Tuesday afternoon at 2.  We'd planned to depart Heidelberg Wednesday and head south and east but the weather didn't cooperate, so we stayed around a second night.  Luckily we were able to squeeze in a 3 hour loop ride when the weather cleared in the late afternoon.

This morning we packed and were off by 10, making our way slowly along  back roads. We stopped to walk around Eppingen and ate our riverside picnic in the spa town of Bad Liebenzell. An overcast day but comfortable riding temperatures, with scenery ever so enjoyable. The rain held off until we secured our room at 6 pm in Freudenstadt on the edge of the Black Forest. By 7 it had slackened to a drizzle, so Rob has left to explore the town on foot.

Bad Liebenzell
The day was full of picturesque rolling hills, forest, farms and some vineyards. Not much in the photo department but I'll include two anyway.
